We write the life we want into existence.

Poetry

  • Hurt, Pain, Hope, and Rain

What happens when you lose hope

When you’ve lost something to believe in

And your just living day to day

Not surprised when bad things happen

When your tired of being strong

Standing up before the storm

When all your problems stack against you

Maybe you were pretending all along

When all people can say

Is I know things will get better

But what do they know of your problems

You wear them like a scarlet letter

Its sometimes hard to paste your smile

But even when you do

The people you try to keep out

Can always see right through

Sometimes it’s a comfort

When people know your hurting

But you don’t let them too far in

They always end up deserting

I wish I knew a solution

To ease all of the pain

Except it cant always be sunshine

We all must feel the rain

  • A Comfort

There is a day of sunny rest

For every dark and troubled soul

For those who find a sweeter rest

Beyond the grave, I seek to know

I’m looking on the brighter side

Of things hoped for, but not yet seen

With all the wonders of this world

There are still those who hurt and grieve

For what they seek they cannot find

And what they have they do not need

What is a life without its hunger?

A life without its drive

To peer into the looking glass

And not see what’s inside

Cause the life you knew was simple

Easy to comprehend

But now the tides are turning

Your world on a downward spin

So take not the moment lightly

And live each day like there’s no tomorrow

Cause soon this day of sunny rest

Shall once again be filled with sorrow.

  • A perfect world

You always do the right thing

And say the right things too

But when will you let the rest of the world

In on the real you?

Your always so prim and proper

With impeccable manners as well

But will you ever leave the confines of you

Will you ever break out of your shell

Can anyone see the real you

And all your insecurities

Or is that what you’d hoped to disguise

With an air of polished obscurity

Maybe the best part of life

Is when you can’t hide anymore

When life takes you by storm

Leaving no time to bar the door

So now it seems to everyone

You have the perfect life

But that’s only because you conceal

All your inner strife

You hide from everyone else

Because you think they wouldn’t understand

Or that they’d finally see truth

That your perfect life ain’t so grand

You paint your pretty picture

And say such wonderful things

But everyone already knows

That nothings what it seems

So take the pictures down

And stop pretending your fine

The only perfect world

Is the one inside your mind.

  • Lift

Lift me off the ground

if only for while

I make a fool of me

just to see you smile

the people getting smaller

as i’m propelled away from ground

the wind carries my fears

They never make a sound

The clouds carry my worries

it’s an overcast kind of day

the rain drops hold my pain

the sun dries them away

the error of my ways

aren’t visible to see

but when the lightening flashes

it burns a hole thourhg me

rolling thunder in the distance

drowns out all my mistakes

the hail beats away regret

and forms an icy lake
