Hannah Arendt’s book that reports on the escape of Adolf Eichmann to Argentina and his eventual discovery by the Isreali Secret Service In which he was kidnapped and brought back to Jerusalem where he was subsequently placed on trial and sentenced to death. The book reports on the personality and the psyche of the perpetrators of the Holocaust. They were not all sociopaths or even particularly anti-Semitic they were normal people who simply “did their job”. Hence the subtitle and last words of the last chapter are “The Banality of Evil”.
